Plain Dosa

Plain dosa using rice flour

Ingredients

Split urad dal 1 cup
Rice flour 2 cups

Salt to taste

Preparation

Wash and soak urad dal for at least 5 hour.
Grind it adding enough water to a smooth consistency.  Now add the rice flour and enough water and mix together in the mixing bowl.  Running the mixer for a few minutes ensures perfect blending.  Move the batter into a large vessel and keep overnight at a warm place for leavening ( rising).

Next morning before cooking add the salt and mix well.  Heat a pan, grease it using some oil. Pour a laddle full batter into the pan and spread it evenly in the pan.  When one side is cooked turn it over and cook the other side also.

Serve warm along with sambar, chutney and the like.
