Semiya payasam
Ingredients for semiya payasam
Semiya ( vermiselli) 200 gm.
Butter 1 tbsp.
Water ½ litre
Milk ½ litre
Cashew nuts 1 tbsp
Raisins 1 tbsp
Cardamom 5 pods crushed
Sugar 5 tbsp
Preparation of semiya payasam
Heat butter in a pan and fry the cashew nuts and raisins mildly and keep aside.
Now add the semiya into the pan and fry it, remove from the pan and keep aside.
Heat water in a vessel, add the fried semiya and cook 5 minutes. Add milk to the semiya and allow to boil.
Now add the fried cashew nuts, raisins, cardamom pods and a pinch of salt. Allow to boil for a few minutes stirring well and remove from heat.
Can be served warm or chilled.
