Chickpea Radish Pulao
 
Ingredients

Chickpeas 100 gms.
Basmati rice 500 gm.
Onion chopped 2 nos
Tomatoes chopped 2 nos
Green chillies 5 nos
Coriander leaves a bunch
Mint leaves a bunch
Bay leaves a few
Asafoetida powder ¼ tsp
Anise seeds ½ tsp
Cloves 10 nos
Cinnamon a small piece
Turmeric powder ½ tsp
Garlic paste 1 tsp
Yogurt 250 ml

Preparation

Soak chickpeas overnight in water and cook till tender and keep aside.

Grate radish and chop tomatoes, green chillies, onion, coriander and mint leaves and keep aside.

Heat oil in a pan, add cloves, cinnamon, anise seeds, bay leaves and asafoetida and saute for two minutes.  Add turmeric powder, tomato, chillies, radish, ginger-garlic paste and mix well.

Add yogurt, chickpeas rice and 750 ml water and cook well on low flame with closed lids.
