Brown beans- banana Flower
stir fried.
(Vanpayar vazhachundu ularthiyathu)Chilli powder 1 tsp.
Coriander powder ½ tsp.
Turmeric powder ¼ tsp.
Ginger chopped 1 Tbsp.
Garlic chopped ½ tsp.
Coconut sliced 1 Tbsp.
Green chillies chopped 5 Nos.
Shallots chopped ½ cup.
Cumin seed powder ¼ tsp.
Salt to taste
Oil as needed
Mustard seeds ½ tsp.
Dried red chillies broken into pieces 2 nos.
Preparation
Finely chop the banana flowersdirectly into slightly salted water in a vessel to remove the stickiness and to prevent it from changing colour.
Soak the brown beans for at least 6 hours. Wash , rinse and cook in a vessel adding turmeric powder, chilli powder, coriander powder, salt and enough water till the beans become tender.
When the banana flower is cooked, add the cooked brown beans, mix well and
remove from heat.
