Brown beans- banana Flower stir fried.

 Ingredients

 Banana flower 1 nos
Brown beans 100 gm.
Chilli powder 1 tsp.
Coriander powder ½ tsp.
Turmeric powder ¼ tsp.
Ginger chopped 1 Tbsp.
Garlic chopped ½ tsp.
Coconut sliced 1 Tbsp.
Green chillies chopped 5 Nos.
Shallots chopped ½ cup.
Cumin seed powder ¼ tsp.
Salt to taste
Oil as needed

 For seasoning
Oil 2 tbsp.
Mustard seeds ½ tsp.
Dried red chillies broken into pieces 2 nos.

Preparation

Finely chop the banana flowersdirectly into slightly salted water in a vessel to remove the stickiness and to prevent it from changing colour.
Soak the brown beans for at least 6 hours.  Wash , rinse and cook in a vessel adding turmeric powder, chilli powder, coriander powder, salt and enough water till the beans become tender.

 Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds and red chillies, saute well, add chopped ginger, garlic, coconut slices, green chillies, curry leaves and shallots and saute till golden brown.  Add ¼ tsp. turmeric powder, chilli powder, cumin powder and the chopped banana flower and cook stirring constasntly. 

When the banana flower is cooked, add the cooked brown beans, mix well and remove from heat.
